University Hospitals Derby and Burton are delighted to be able to offer a new substantive post as Dietetic Clinical Lead for the Neonatal Service.

This opportunity has arisen following a recent service review. Funding has also been secured for a band 6 post to work alongside the clinical lead. This post will be integrated within our current paediatric team and wider department, but will hold strong links to the Neonatal MDT.

Additional funding has been secured for other AHP's, making it a very exciting time to lead a neonatal service.

The position will involve working at both Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton.

Main duties of the job

This clinical lead for neonates will be responsible for a complex, highly specialist clinical case load providing advanced nutritional advice to ensure the best outcome for the patients.

To work as a highly skilled practitioner within the multidisciplinary team for paediatric neonatology and undertake a range of clinical duties as part of this role.

This will include but is not limited to the following: attending neonatal ward round and discharge planning meetings, providing expert dietetic advice for the patients across each of the neonatal services. The candidate will need to have excellent understanding and recent implementation on the current clinical guidelines for neonates.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • UK Registered Dietitian with the HCPC
  • Completion of a recognised specific Paediatric Diabetes Module (Neonatology)


Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Recent clinical experience in the management of neonates
  • Experience of service development
  • Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams and as a senior member of the wider dietetic team
  • Recent involvement in student training


Desirable

  • Recent involvement in quality improvement project
  • Recent clinical experince in the management of surgical neonates


Skills

Essential

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Car Driver
  • Experience of teaching other HCP's including medics, nurses and AHP's


Desirable

  • Evidence of presenting at a regional or national level
