The post holder will take a lead role in the clinical development of nursing practice and innovation, to improve the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Will coordinate the education and training and continuous professional development framework for intensive care nursing staff and pre-registration students to provide high quality care to patients and their families.Will comply with NMC standards, relevant professional and Trust guidelines to provide, promote and develop high quality evidenced based patient focused practice. Will work in collaboration with the B7Ward Managers within Critical Care.
Main duties of the job
To lead the education and professional development of all staff working within the Critical Care Department, Delivery of formal competency-based education and training, in line with national standards for critical care nurse education and the national competency framework for criticalcare nurses.
To develop a culture of lifelong learning.
To act as an assessor as required for nursing training and development.
To take a lead role in the development, delivery and evaluation of the educational programmes.
To support the preceptorship /mentorship programmes.
To develop individual induction programmes for all new starters.
To liaise with Organisational Development and Training Facilitators, Practice Placement Facilitators, Work Based Learning Facilitators and Staff Development Co-ordinators and to keep updated through appropriate professional organisations.
To support and lead work-based learning NVQ and Nursing Associate qualifications in the Critical Care environment.
