We are seeking a motivated, and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our vibrant, friendly, and progressive Medicines Optimisation service.
As part of the MFT medicines optimisation and governance team you will work alongside the team's pharmacists, technicians, medicines management scientist and administration to develop and review PGDs and procedures, support adult and paediatric medicines management committees and medicines formulary review to inform the safe and effective use of medicines across all MFT hospital sites.
Main duties of the job
The role is diverse and involves working not only with clinical pharmacy colleagues, but with HIVE and EPIC (MFT electronic patient management system) colleagues, nursing, AHPs and medical staff.This system working extends to colleagues in the local care organisation and GM ICB working with system partners and GM Medicines Optimisation service.
Other key duties include:
Working as part of the Medicines Optimisation and Governance Team to identify, promote and share best practice and quality improvement with respect to medicines optimisation, and ensure the safe, effective, and economic use of medicines.
Promoting the use of medicines related policies, guidelines, and procedures by other healthcare professions to ensure the safe, effective, cost effective and timely use of medicines with the Trust.
We want you to contribute to the provision of a high-quality Medicines Optimisation service to practitioners at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, primary healthcare professionals and the public in Manchester.
Full training and support to deliver the role will be provided.
