Are you ready to use your Cyber Security skills in a way that makes a positive impact on peoples lives? Were looking for a senior leader to head up our Cyber Security Team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer, you will lead, develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of Cyber Security services and support within the Trust, liaising with regional and national organisations. This role requires an individual who is driven, ambitious and passionate about tackling the threat of Cyber, with a desire to influence at the highest levels, working in close partnership with senior colleagues.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Cyber Security will lead the assessment and analysis of IT security risks and implement security solutions for the Trusts digital infrastructure. This position is a senior leadership role, requiring an individual with a strong hands on technical background and industry knowledge, as well as the ability to work with the Trusts IT team and its external partners, application development teams, and business management teams. The role will require a close working relationship with Information Governance, Data/Voice Communications and the Technical Infrastructure Team, also working closely with the ICB and NHS England to ensure LTHT maintains full compliance with national security directives.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality Cyber Security services within the Trust and liaise with regional and national organisations. This role requires an individual who is driven, ambitious and passionate about tackling the threat of Cyber, and who has a desire to influence at the highest levels working in close partnership with senior staff.

The Head of Cyber Security will provide execution of Information Security by leading the assessment and analysis of IT security risks while implementing security solutions for the DigitalInformatics infrastructure. This position is a senior leadership role that requires an individual with a strong hands on technical background and industry knowledge, as well as the ability to work with the entire Informatics organisation within LTHT and its external partners, application development teams, business management teams as well as having a close working relationship with Information Governance, Data/Voice Communications and the Technical Infrastructure Team. The role will also require a close working relationship with WYATT, NHS Digital and England to ensure LTHT has fully compliancy with national security directives.

The Head of Cyber Security shall align business priorities and compliance requirements with comprehensive security controls. They will participate in DigitalInformatics planning initiatives to ensure that security measures are incorporated into strategic plans and to ensure that security capabilities are clearly defined and implemented. The Head of Cyber Security will be responsible for overseeing that all security related hardware and software installations including Firewalls, comply with national guidelines. They will also be responsible for working with application development teams to ensure developed applications are secure and meet the requirements of industry audits and development standards. This will also apply to any existing and proposed third party applications the Trust has installed or plans to deploy.

  • Must be able to present credible and compelling arguments to senior managers, own department, peers and commissioners to develop effective relationships
  • Expert leadership skills, innovation and able to challenge and improve processes and ways of working using a wide range of problem-solving techniques
  • Excellent analytical skills able to assimilate and interpret highly complex, multi-stranded financial and non-financial information


Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent. (or commensurate experience required in the workplace)
  • Cyber Qualification or Equivalent of IM& T security products and Services, proficient in the interpretation of Malware and other Virus related attacks.


Desirable

  • ITIL Foundation Certificate ITIL Practitioner Problem/Release Management Degree in IM& T or Health Informatics related subject
  • In-depth knowledge of available antivirus and vulnerability products
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate ITIL Practitioner Problem/Release Management Degree in IM& T or Health Informatics related subject In-depth knowledge of available antivirus and vulnerability products Rec


Experience

Essential

  • High level of knowledge and experienced in dealing with security breaches both cyber and from the network environment,
  • Ability to isolate machines effectively and efficiently from vulnerabilities and hacks.
