Are you an RMN with a difference?Looking for a new challenge in a highly rewarding role?We continue to develop and invest in our extraordinary CAMHS Services and WE WANT YOU to become part of our journey in helping young people recover and overcome adversity. Located at Tatchbury Mount, Southampton; Austen House is a 14 bed, low secure hospital for children and adolescents with mental health needs.
Austen House is hugely helping to meet the national shortage of beds for young people with specialist mental health needs, meaning that patients living in the south of the country will be able to access treatment closer to home, preventing them and their families having to travel long distances to receive the care they need.
We understand how important work life balance is and we know happy staff makes for outstanding care. Let us know if you require flexible working and we will always do our best to accommodate you.
If you are career driven we are here to support you.
We have a competency based approach to clinical training and development, ensuring you are able to develop your skills in a safe and effective way. You will receive regular supervision and opportunities for personal and professional development.
As a Charge Nurse you will be involved in assessing individual care needs and developing and implementing programmes of care. You will take responsibility for managing, training and developing the junior staff as well as supporting the management of the clinical area that will require you to deputise for the Ward Manager.
We accept applications from Mental Health, Learning Disability Nurses or Paediatric Nurses.
As a registered professional you will automatically become a member of our Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE) which has a specific focus on the professional development and career progression of our nurses and Allied Health Professionals. As part of ACE’s commitment to you, our development pathway for band 6’s focuses on enhancing your competence and confidence as a senior clinician and leader. As such, you will have access to masters level academic study with our partner universities as well as access to a variety of internal and external leadership programmes, workshops and support tools. The Academy encourages all our registrants to engage with service improvement, research and facilitating learning and a range of opportunities to support these core professional activities is available from ACE.
