We are recruiting for a Non-Medical Prescriber Band 7, part-time [30 hours per week], Permanent to work in a well established CAMH Team.
South Stoke CAMHS are looking to expand their NMP provision, and are seeking to appoint a Non-Medical Prescriber to work in our friendly and supportive team.
The South Stoke CAMHS team is a well-established multi-disciplinary team that works with children and young people aged 0 - 18 years. There are professionals from a range of backgrounds in the team, including Psychiatry, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work and CBT/IPT-A therapists. The team is one of three community CAMHS teams in the region.
We are looking for a Non Medical Prescriber who has post registration training/qualification in Independent and Supplementary Non-Medical Prescribing and enjoys being a part of a multi-disciplinary team. Having experience of working in a CAMHS setting would be advantageous although not essential as supervision/support for those from Adult Mental Health background will be given. Being committed to delivering high quality services for children, young people and their families is essential.
Main duties of the job
1. Plan and deliver Nurse led clinics and Interventions to Children and Young People with complex Mental Health needs.
2. Prescribe and monitor medication for the management of complex Mental Health needs with supervision from medical staff.
3. Contribute to the assessment of specific complex Mental Health needs within the multidisciplinary team.
4. Have overall responsibility for assessment, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of individual programmes of care.
5. Be responsible and accountable for the assessment of patients with diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions and for decisions about the clinical management required, including prescribing.
6. Develop, deliver and evaluate specialist teaching programmes for all disciplines.
7. Provide a consultancy service offering input to staff within health & social care agencies.
8. Develop, implement and evaluate research / audit projects that will inform service improvement and development.

Qualifications

- oCore nurse qualification e.g. RMN, RNLD,RSCN.
- oPost registration training/qualification in Independent and Supplementary Non-Medical Prescribing.
Experience

- oSignificant experience of specialist mental health assessment and treatment of children and adolescents and their families/carers where appropriate as a full member of a multi-disciplinary team located in community, primary care, outpatients or inpatient settings.
- oSignificant experience of working with a wide variety of children, adolescents and their families/carers across the whole range and presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
Knowledge
Essential
- oHighly competent in working therapeutically with children and young people experiencing complex mental health difficulties and their families throughout the process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation
- oQualified in being able to independently or supplementary prescribe medication, monitor and review, for children with a diagnosis of ADHD or other mental health concerns where medication is prescribed.
