An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiotherapist to join our therapy team on the Care of the Elderly wards at Northwick Park Hospital.
You will be required to complete assessments, implement treatment plans, execute tailored rehabilitation programs and coordination safe and effective discharge plans for elderly patients, with a range of conditions including cardio-respiratory (e.g. COPD, pneumonia, heart failure), orthopaedics, neuro (e.g.MS) and impaired mobility.
The post will provide the opportunity to further develop your clinical skills with a diverse caseload whilst contributing to development of the inpatient services and taking active part in service improvement projects.
A developmental position may be considered.
Main duties of the job
As an autonomous practitioner, to assess and treat own caseload and provide a specialist physiotherapy service within Care of the Elderly wards.
Complete comprehensive multisystem assessments (respiratory, neuro, MSK) to develop thorough problem lists and treatment plans to deliver a high standard of care including holistic care and prompt discharge planning.
To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), assessing and treating patients with potentially complex disability, working towards facilitating discharges where possible and maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.
To support the line manager in the provision and management of physiotherapy services, including responsibility for managing students and junior staff.
To engage in own continued professional development (CPD) and service development, in conjunction with the Band 7s and 8s.
Please note that 7 day working is undertaken across therapies at the Trust. Days off are allocated in the week following weekend working (1 in 5 weekends).
To be part of the Physiotherapy on-call roster.
