This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Qualified CBT Therapist orClinical Psychologist to join the new Specialist Mental Health Support Team (MHST) that will be working with Children and Young people and their families in Special Schools and with those who are electively home educated.

The team forms part of the Early Help provision within Hampshire CAMHS so will be working closely with the existing Primary Mental Health Service and other MHSTs in the region as well as the Tier 3 CAMHS teams.

The postholder will either possess or be willing to work towards CBT Supervisor Accreditation and will be the lead position for the low intensity and high intensity clinicians working within the Specialist MHST and will have a passion and motivation for working with Autistic Children and young people with or without a learning disability, aiming to improve mental health and emotional wellbeing of this population.

You would be offering assessments and interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. As part of this role you would contribute to the core work of the team as well as offering more specialist clinical interventions. The role would also provide the opportunity to become involved in delivering evidence-based group interventions.

You will receive regular supervision, and will have opportunities to link with other specialist practitioners in the trust, as well as access internal training opportunities

Main duties of the job

Deliver evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems and additional needs.Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.Supporting and facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.Working with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.Provide effective leadership and/or management to staff. This promotes high performance standards both individually and as a team, in the achievement of the Trusts objectives and priorities

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised/accredited postgraduate level training in a psychological therapy as specified below.
  • Professionally registered as specified below.
  • A recognised post graduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (or equivalent).
  • Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).
  • A recognised qualification in one of the core mental health professions recognised by BABCP, e.g. psychiatric nursing, clinical psychology, medicine, social work, occupational therapy or counselling AND current registration with the core professional body, OR evidence of having achieved the Knowledge Skills and Attitudes (KSA) route to BABCP accreditation.
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
