Sonographer post based cross site to work full time hours. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Sonographer to work in our busy and well equipped ultrasound departments at Epsom & St Helier Hospitals.
The part time post is 37.5 hours per week. We also offer flexible working patterns in order to run extended ultrasound services in the evenings and weekends.
This post is for sonographers that are working at advanced practice that can fulfil the requirements of the 8a post. The suitable candidate will be to deputise for the Lead Sonographer.
We are seeking to recruit an exceptionally skilled Band 8a advanced practitioner, with evidence of excellent clinical MSK ability and an interest in teaching. The successful candidate should have an interest in both training and managing Band 7 sonographers and need to be keen to support the development of the rapidly growing sonography Department. Any personal research or clinical interests will be supported where possible, and we undertake to develop the successful applicant further.
Job share will be considered.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will perform and issue ultrasound reports on a wide range of ultrasound procedures including acute in-patients, providing highly advanced clinical skills and opinion and diagnosis for patient centred care, exercising the highest degree of professional autonomy in the decision making process.
Provide day-to-day operational management support to the team of Sonographers on a given site in order to ensure resources are able and fully utilised to deliver on activity and performance
They will define scope of practice of others and continuously develop clinical practice within their own defined field.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will :
- Provide day-to-day operational oversight of ultrasound services and troubleshooting issues.
- Support the Lead Sonographer in developing the ultrasound service in line with best practice and national standards, deputising for them as required.
- Provide a comprehensive ultrasound service to a variety of inpatient and outpatient client groups, including vascular, general and obstetric sonography.
- Provide and promote a high standard of technical ultrasound expertise within all relevant clinical area.
