Are you a looking for your next role in paediatric psychology? We are seeking applicants who have the required skills and expertise to work within two teams.
The successful candidate with join a team of Paediatric Psychologists in the Psychological and Mental Health Services (PAMHS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). They will also be Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the new Children and Young People's Gender Service (London).
The post-holder will be part of a large team of clinical psychologists (Specialist Health Conditions Stream) at GOSH. This team provide a specialist paediatric psychology service to children and young people under the care of urology, endocrinology, dermatology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and neurology.
The successful applicant will contribute to clinical leadership of the stream, working closely with the Consultant Clinical psychologist stream lead. Clinically, the post holder will be required to deliver highly specialist assessment, complex formulations and interventions - both individual and in groups. The role includes a mixture of inpatient and outpatient work and involves close working with medical MDTs. They will also be expected to provide consultation and training to staff teams at GOSH, including facilitating debriefs and reflective practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will also provide leadership to manage and plan the delivery of a highly specialist psychology and psychotherapy service within the NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service (London) alongside the clinical lead. They will personally provide expert clinical input, through the provision of highly specialist assessments, complex formulations and interventions. The post holder will supervise and manage a range of psychological professionals and play a key role in the ongoing development of interventions.
In both parts of the role the post holder will be responsible for the monitoring and implementation of professional standards in the practice of applied psychology in the service and the systematic and effective provision of professional supervision, governance, and quality of the service.
The post offers opportunities to develop leadership skills by enabling the successful applicant to take a key role in a number of service development and research initiatives.

- Entry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional training) that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration. - Clinical psychologist: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
- Minimum 2:1 honours degree in Psychology
- Post- graduate doctoral level training in the field of clinical psychology
- Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Eligibility for Chartered Status and membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology

- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and also within the context of a multi-disciplinary care plan
- Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
