We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist wanting to develop their clinical, supervisory and leadership skills within our inpatient setting. The successful applicant would work as a specialist clinical psychologist (Band 8a) on Sandford Ward, a male older adult inpatient ward in Oxford.

You will provide psychological and neuropsychological assessments and psychological interventions. Additionally, the job involves providing consultation to a multidisciplinary inpatient team, using team formulation skills to enhance care planning as well as facilitating reflective practice. The post also involves the teaching and training of psychological interventions and techniques to other colleagues as well as the supervision of an assistant psychologist. The psychologist will also have a role in offering placements for doctoral level psychologists in training from the University of Oxford course.

This role would offer you the opportunity to provide not only clinical intervention but to impact on service delivery and patient care models. You will work with the Ward Manager and leadership team to ensure that Sandford Ward achieves its key objectives of delivering caring, safe and excellent care. You will ensure the service you provide is of a high quality and meets national guidance as well as meeting local and nationally agreed targets.

In turn, you will receive expert clinical supervision and will have access to a wide range of CPD activities. There are excellent opportunities for service development, service evaluation/research and teaching/training. Oxford Health has links to the prestigious Oxford University and NIHR Research Centre. This role will continue to offer exciting opportunities to be a part of clinical research in practice.

The successful candidate will want to make a real difference to older adults with long term mental health problems and/or dementia as well as to their families and carers. Working as part of a collaborative, committed, supportive and friendly team.
