This is an exciting Band 7 opportunity for a 1 year fixed term contract or secondment opportunity to work within the newly established Adult Eating Disorder Integrated Mental Health Service (AEDimhs) covering Maternity leave.

AEDimhs (Adult Eating Disorder Integrated Mental Health Service) is a newly established low medical risk eating disorder service working within Primary care. You would be working with a supportive, motivated and energetic team as we further our service development across Surrey Heartlands and Frimley South.

We are seeking to find a Mental Health Practitioner who wants to make a difference by providing high quality NICE concordant Eating Disorder interventions to patients aged 18 years plus.

You will need to be an RMN, CBT therapist or Specialist Clinical Psychologist, with a keen interest in supporting people with a range of eating disorders, with a particular focus on early intervention and prevention.

The introduction of this team is part of a wider transformation and expansion of community-based Specialist mental health services set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be providing evidence-based Eating Disorders treatment and therapy, working in collaboration with people who use our services to support their recovery. This work will be delivered virtually and face to face. The team is supported with a weekly in person MDT and regular monthly clinical and managerial supervision.

You will provide individual and group therapies (CBT- T and CBT-E) for people who use the AEDimhs service, and support the strong working relationships we have with the Adult Eating Disorder Service and Recovery College.

As part of a small team, you will contribute to delivering and co-developing the AEDimhs model and care pathways.

To accept referrals direct from primary care and promote early assessment, treatment and ensure robust relationships and links with other community-based services.

To work predominantly with adults (18+) with an Eating Disorder whose needs are best met within primary care.
