- The Auditory Implant team at the RNENT +EDH hospital in central Londod is seeking a a highly qualified, experienced and skilled Audiology Service Manager. The postholder will lead and manage a team of audiologists working with deaf adults and/or children.
- The post-holder will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary clinical team in this national centre of excellence in the provision of Cochlear Implants and other Auditory Implants.
- The successful candidate will have an MSc in Audiology (or equivalent) plus state registration with RCCP or HCPC, experience in advanced hearing aids, hearing aid fitting verification, outcome measures and a range of rehabilitative techniques is expected.
- Previous experience in working in an auditory implant department is desirable.
- You will a possess highly developed communication skills, possess sound IT skills and write clinical notes and reports to a very high standard.

Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to lead the audiology service within the auditory implant team. To ensure the provision of a high quality, complex, and advanced clinical service meeting the highest national standards.
To be responsible for the service budget, managing pay and non pay costs within the service.
To ensure that the service delivers against targets and activity and income plans.
In collaboration with other service leads within the auditory implant team support audiology staff in delivering patient centred care using streamlined pathways.
To manage a planned clinical caseload with both complex and routine patients.
To be available to manage an additional ad hoc clinical caseload on service need.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring training across the service is delivered to meet the clinical and non clinical requirements of staff.
The postholder will work with other service leads to ensure that the professional and clinical standards are maintained at all times.

Essential
- MSc in Clinical Audiology or equivalent level of knowledge/experience
- Working towards a PhD/doctorate level qualification or equivalent experience Post graduate management/leadership training
- State registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)
Desirable
- PhD
SKILLS/ABILITIES

- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Significant experience managing and leading a large clinical team
- Demonstrable significant experience in finance and budget management
- Ability to maintain concentration in order to obtain accurate results throughout busy clinics applying information to the use and application of appropriate auditory implants and hearing aids.
- Expert judgemental skills needed in the performing and choice of test or tests
- Ability to lead and motivate staff within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience of teaching large groups of staff

- Experience at a senior level working within an Auditory Implant Audiology Service
- Experience in undertaking complex clinical assessments and treatments

- Highly developed clinical skills in auditory implant audiology
- Experience in leading and undertaking R& D in Auditory Implant Audiology
- Management of services in line with performance targets and QEP agenda
- Experience in managing competing demands of service management and clinical delivery.

- Experience of leading change in a large service. Research publications.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Essential
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Fluent English speaker.
- Communicates information to staff, patients and relatives using reasoning, persuasion, reassurance, tact and sensitivity overcoming barriers to understanding.
- Dealing with patients and carers having hearing impairment, including those who use sign language to communicate
- Dealing with patients under stress and their relatives.
- Dealing with patients who have on-going medical conditions.
