This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Child Psychiatrist to join a vibrant multidisciplinary team in Devon, working into a number of pathways. The post will be based in South Devon and Torbay but involve working with the consultant group across Devon providing strong medical leadership.
Child and Family Health Devon has established a number of different mental health pathways including Managing Mood and Emotions, Managing Eating, Urgent Care, Learning Disability and Neurodiversity. There will be opportunities for the candidate to develop and pursue their special interest, supporting medical leadership within these pathways. There will also be opportunities for colleagues with an interest in medical education, the service has strong links with two universities and medical schools.
Devon is a large county with beautiful coastline, moorland and cites. We invite candidates that are wishing to work full time or less than full time also to apply and see what Devon has to offer.

Candidates will be joining Devon CAMHS which is a CQC rated Good service and part of a wider Integrated service within Children and Family Health Devon.
Main duties of the job
This is a 10PA community post based in South Devon and Torbay. The service has a strong multidisciplinary ethos and successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to working flexibly with colleagues from other disciplines in an integrated way.
The appointee will be expected to provide psychiatric input to the multidisciplinary team, contributing to clinical and team management decisions and providing consultation to others. They will contribute to leading on the establishment of multi-disciplinary assessment clinics, providing high quality specialist mental health assessments of young people referred into the service.
There will be a particularly strong emphasis on leadership, both clinical and in terms of service development working closely with the operational managers and other clinical leads.
The successful candidate will participate in on-call duties and join the regular peer group CPD forum and will be supported to become a clinical supervisor or pursue special interests.
