An exciting opportunity has arisen with Blackpool Talking Therapies. We require flexible and highly motivated individual to join our leadership team in the Deputy Team Manager - Step 3 Team Leader position.

NHS Blackpool Talking Therapies service is focused on delivering high quality therapy, being amongst the highest performers in the area. Our service achieved all of its national Key Performance Indicators for 23/24, and our patient feedback is excellent. This is an exciting time for NHS Blackpool Talking Therapies. We are continually expanding our service and looking at innovative ways of improving access and deliver treatment. You will have the opportunity to be part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team of staff who are genuinely committed to improving the lives of our service users and carers.

This will be a mainly leadership/strategic development position, the post holder will manage a small caseload in relevant modality to ensure they can maintain accreditation.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will a member of the NHS Talking Therapies Leadership team. They will deputise for the service manager and work alongside the Deputy Team Manager - Step 2 Team Leader.

They will play a key role in the day to day running of the service. They will work with the Team Manager and wider Leadership Team to responsively implement and sustain quality improvement strategies, service development and management of the Step 3 Team.

They will work with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders to deliver KPI targets and service improvement initiatives, so the best outcomes for patients are achieved.

They will take the lead in projects, audits and recruitment as required by the service manager.

Job responsibilities

Job Summary:The post holder will be responsible for managing the Step 3 Team within the NHS Blackpool Talking Therapy Service.Responsibility for the leadership and management of the day-to-day delivery of step 3 provision including managing issues relating to HR, performance management, delivery of service KPIs and quality measures.To work with the leadership team and key stakeholders to deliver KPI targets, agreed activity levels and service improvement initiatives and ensure that the best outcomes for patients are achieved.Working under the direction of the Service Manager, with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of the Step 3 service. This includes planning, delivering, evaluation and development of the services.

To work alongside the team manager to ensure that services are implemented in line with the national guidance and the stepped care model of treatment for people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

Ensuring clinical governance arrangements are adhered to, and staff are supported in the delivery/receipt of appropriate clinical supervision providing specialist supervision as necessary.Maintain accreditation with relevant professional body (BABCP or BACP) and act in accordance with Code of Conduct and maintain own competency to practice.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualification from High Intensity Talking Therapies Course (Post Graduate Diploma) OR Post Graduate Diploma in CBT from a BABCP recognised and accredited course OR Post Graduate Qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy.
  • A qualification in Supervision for relevant modality.
  • Up to date BABCP/BACP registration.


Desirable

  • Training in Talking Therapies approved modality such as Long Term Conditions Training, Counselling for Depression or EMDR.


Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate a range of post-qualifying experiences in delivering a range of evidence based Step 3 Talking Therapies interventions.
  • Experience of working in a Talking Therapies Service.
  • Experience of supporting other team members with regards to the implementation of the NHS Talking Therapies model.
  • Experience of working on service improvement initiatives relating to the delivery of KPI targets and ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Experience of responding to patient concerns.


Desirable

  • Experience of working in a leadership role/staff management.


Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets and support others to do the same.
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time and support others to do the same.
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication and able to write clear reports and letters to referrers and maintain a high standard of clinical record keeping.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact work can have on mental health / benefits & employment systems.
  • Knowledge of child protection issues and other relevant legislation.
  • Evidence of ability to assess and manage risk
  • Ability to manage own time, priorities tasks and monitor team performance.
  • Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively and able to respond positively to feedback from supervision.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Ability to lead and work within a team and foster good team working relationships.


Desirable

  • Experience of using IAPTUS clinical record keeping system.
