We are currently recruiting Physiotherapists who wish to join our rotational scheme of core and specialised rotations which occur in our three main sites (Stoke Mandeville - Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Amersham).
This post will start on the Spinal Cord Injuries rehabilitation rotation at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Main duties of the job
There are permanent posts available, with four month rotations in the following areas: trauma, elective orthopaedics, musculoskeletal, hyperacute stroke, stroke rehab, burns and plastics, Intensive care, medical wards and respiratory unit, surgical wards, complex neuro rehab, acute spinal cord injuries, spinal cord rehabilitation , community rehabilitation and Therapy nurse led Unit rehab. Paediatrics, hydrotherapy, amputee and cardiac rehabilitation experience is also available.
For all rotations you will have a nominated band 6/Senior to be your mentor and provide support, often there are Physiotherapy support staff that you work alongside and this provides opportunities for you to develop your skills of delegation and support. As a service we also have several rotational schemes at band 6 level offering great career progression in the future.
In service training and professional development is actively pursued in all rotations. Following a competency based induction and training part of this role also includes working at weekends and being on call for the respiratory service.
As some of the rotations are working in the community visiting patients in their homes, it is therefore essential that you are a car driver and either own a car or plan to do so for the purposes of work.
