We have further exciting opportunities for highly skilled, experienced, and motivated musculoskeletal Physiotherapists/Osteopaths in our established Solent FCP team, led by expertly trained Advanced Practice Clinicians, delivering MSK FCP clinics to a number of Primary Care Networks across Hampshire. Our FCP model ensures timely access to appropriate MSK assessment and management, streamlining our well-established MSK pathways and supporting the transformation of musculoskeletal care. We fully recognise the value of and support the development of all pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice. Our FCP clinicians are key to shaping our service, actively involved in governance, clinical effectiveness, research, and Quality Improvement projects

Solent's FCP Service forms part of a fully integrated MSK Physiotherapy, Pain and Podiatry (MPP) Service, accepting FCP, GP & self-referral. We have a variety of other specialities within the MSK service : Pelvic Health, Hydrotherapy, Rheumatology, Adolescent MSK and Persistent Pain

Are you 5 years post-graduate experienced, 3 of these with MSK? Already working at/working towards completion of the HEE roadmap to practice? Or fancy a supported opportunity within a development role to become an FCP (this can be discussed further with hiring manager or within interview). Experienced in delivering high quality, evidence based care through a variety of consultation methods? Interested in being part of an innovative and rapidly expanding service?

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the NHS 7 day working service and in collaboration with the PCN enhanced services provision.

To provide clinical expertise acting as a First Contact Practitioner (FCP) in Primary Care, to assess, establish rapid and accurate diagnosis and make decisions about the best course of action for patients' care, including in relation to undifferentiated conditions.

To deliver programmes of supported patient self-management, in ways that facilitate behavioural change, optimise individuals' physical activity, mobility, fulfilment of personal goals and independence, and that minimise the need for pharmacological interventions, using a person-centred approach.

To act as an experienced and skilled physiotherapy resource for the service and multi-disciplinary team in the specialism of musculoskeletal out-patients, promoting best practice in Primary Care and ensuring appropriate management within the MSK Pathways

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on 1st July 2024. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.

  • BSc Hons Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Health and Care Professions Council Registration
  • Evidence of post graduate courses / CPD
  • Please note if you are successful for interview you will need to be able to provide evidence you have either:
  • a) Completed stage 1 of the HEE Roadmap to Practice
  • b) Committed to attending and completing an MSc Module(s) for Roadmap Stage 1 and Stage 2 Completion.
