The Medical Rostering Advisor will work as a member of the Medical Rostering Team to provide helpdesk support and operational implementation of the e-Rostering system for medical areas within and across the Trust.
The postholder will work with Trust clinicians and managers in order to implement and support the e-rostering system to its full potential within the service, ensuring that the unit is working within its financial budgets, producing safe rosters that fulfil the demands of the service and reflecting staffs work patterns as required.
Main duties of the job
To facilitate specific work programmes as delegated by the Medical Rostering Manager, ensuring that key milestones and outputs within the project plan are achieved and risks are identified and managed.
Using knowledge on terms and conditions (both Junior Doctor and Consultant Contracts) set up, implement and maintain a new e-rostering system to meet the requirements of the Trust, managers, clinicians and users.
Provide technical support answering queries received in person, via phone or e-mail.
Ensure all rosters are finalised ready for payroll extract, to ensure that the payroll file can be run and staff are paid on time
Offer advice and guidance for service redesign using system knowledge and expertise to interrogate potential outcomes

- Degree level qualification or experience
- Experience in Medical Rostering
- Experience of database administration
- Experience of dealing with difficult situations in face to face, over the telephone and e-mail
- Experience running and maintaining a helpdesk
- Experience in working with an e-Rostering system, preferably HealthRoster/Optima
Desirable
- Previous experience of working with IT systems e.g. ESR
- Experience of generating and analysing reports and documents which contain complex data
Knowledge

- Excellent understanding of working regulations and guidelines e.g. EWTD, 2016 Junior Doctor Contract or the Consultant Contract
- Detailed understanding Junior Doctor Rota's and Consultant Scheduling
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and ability to produce and deliver management information
- Knowledge and previous training of RLDatix (Allocate) Rostering products and solutions
