This is a hugely exciting time to join the recently opened NWL elective orthoapedic team as the EOC Head of Operations.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected to operate at a senior level and provide the operational management and leadership of the EOC, to ensure clinical services are delivered safely, effectively and to time.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day smooth delivery of the service as determined by the NWL partnership board (chaired by the EOC medical director) and the EOC Management board ( chaired by the Managing Director).
The post holder will deputise for the EOC Managing Director as required, representing them at key sub-committee and operational meetings, internal and external to the Trust. This may include making presentations to Trust and ICB sub-committees and large groups of senior staff.
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, you will build collaborative relationships to maintain effective communication and assure delivery of the EOC strategic objectives and operational plan. This will include conveying complex information, weighing up issues and evidence to evaluate a range of potential solutions, to persuade, inform and motivate colleagues.

- Educated to master's level in a relevant area or equivalent experience
- Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development
- Project Management qualification

- Expert and relevant knowledge gained through further post qualification specialist training or experience

- Substantial experience in a senior leadership role in a large NHS organisation
- Experience of developing and delivering large scale operational improvement and trust-wide efficiency programmes
- Strong background in operational management with proven track record of delivery across a range of specialities/services
- Strong background in financial and analytical management demonstrating an understanding of current NHS structures and key policies affecting it
- Development of highly effective services
- Experience in delivering transformational change at a large scale
- Experience in working closely with clinical teams to develop and implement improvement opportunities
- Substantial experience of managing teams at all levels including those from a range of clinical disciplines
Skills, Abilities & Attributes

- Experience in making and advising on complex decisions involving financial and operational risk and sensitivities up to and including Board level
