The Community Chronic Pain service is a multi-disciplinary team of expert chronic pain clinicians who support people with persistent pain to develop self-management strategies to manage theirchronic pain.Our aim is to help individuals to improve their quality of life and reduce their dependency on healthcare services and medication.This service is delivered virtually and face to face in a variety of settings tailored to meet patient needs. It is delivered in 1:1 clinics, group settings and also within the secure (prison) environment.We run Introductory Pain Groups and Pain Management Programmes aimed at supporting those with non-malignant persistent pain across the community.

Main duties of the job

Chronic pain clinics in community sites across Kent

Involvement in group work where required

Once established within the service clinics will also be delivered in the secure environment, we currently run nurse led pain clinics in four Kent Prison

Contribution to ongoing service development

The service operates from Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.

Person Specification



  • NMC, Level 6 learning, Post Grad relevant to CP, Management or supervisory


  • Education, MSc



  • 2 yrs relevant clinical area, policy, service development and change, complex caseloads, supporting others


  • Pain management, leading/managing teams

Specialist Knowledge & expertise


  • National service frameworks & NICE, Relevant CPD last 12 months, Work across boundaries, mentor/supervisor, key issues in pain management
