We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our developing Maternal Mental Health Service. The LPFT Maternal Mental Health Service is a Fast Follower site for the investment in Maternal Mental as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.

This role involves providing individual, group, and systemic support to women, birthing people, and their families within the community. The focus will be on delivering formulation based and NICE recommended psychological interventions to people with moderate mental health difficulties in relation to perinatal loss and/or trauma. We offer a range of therapeutic modalities including CBT, CFT, ACT, and EMDR.

The service is psychology-led with a close alignment to the perinatal mental health MDT. You will contribute to the supervision, consultation, and training of Assistant Psychologists, Specialist Midwives, and the wider maternity care workforce. We are passionate about promoting and supporting trauma informed care and work closely with our colleagues in maternity services in this regard.

You will receive regular management and clinical supervision, and reflective practice, and will have support and supervision from the senior psychologist within the team. You will be one of a team of Psychologists who work in the perinatal and maternal mental health services, and the wider adult community teams. We provide excellent training opportunities including accessing specialist training such as EMDR, developing an area of specialist interest within the wide scope of supporting perinatal and maternal mental health. Staff well-being and development are at the heart of our ambitions. We have an active CPD program across the Trust in relation to both clinical and leadership development, as well as a staff wellbeing service supporting individuals and teams.

This post provides an ideal opportunity for an existing Band 8a or Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, or someone who is newly qualified to consolidate and extend a range of clinical skills.

The post affords the opportunity to progress from a Band 7 to a Band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, following the successful completion of identified targets, based upon acquired skills and Agenda for Change job matching.

All candidates should be registered with the HCPC, and eligible for BPS chartered Status. The ability to work across an area of Lincolnshire is essential and a car is required.
