The purpose of these 2 posts is to increase the number of patients participating in clinical trials at Swansea Bay UHB.

The posts will contribute to the assessment and management of the care pathways for patients participating in clinical trials. This will include the recruitment, education, monitoring of trial patients, the collection and documentation of accurate data.

The post holders will be working with Specialist nurses, allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams within the Clinical Boards and Directorates as well as with the wider research teams assisting with the management of a caseload of clinical trials patients.

The posts will assess and carry out clinical procedures for patients/participants and will be considered part of the clinical team during the participants' involvement with the study. Implementing a programme of care, providing advice and will maintain records within various settings.

As part of the Research Delivery team the post holders will contribute to the efficient set up and delivery of research within Swansea Bay UHB contributing to the performance metrics set for the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking 2 capable, enthusiastic and well organised individuals to work within the Research Delivery Team at Swansea Bay UHB.Initially under supervision working together with other members of the research team the post holders will be required to support the co-ordination of an agreed portfolio of research studies across Swansea Bay UHB.The successful candidate will:- Identify and recruit patients for research studies- Provide information and support for those involved in research studies- Maintain research databases in accordance with the relevant research protocols- Produce high quality data collection- Conduct follow-up visits according to study protocolsThe roles are being advertised as 2 Band 5 Research Nurses. Applicants would be expected to work across all sites within SBUHB

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
