Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services
Hours: 30 hours per week
Contract: 12 months temporary
It’s an exciting, but challenging time for mental health services for young people in South Staffordshire. We are receiving investment in services to expand provision and have a programme of modernisation in process to provide better, more integrated care along with partners.
We are launching a number of new developments due to investment opportunities across both our core CAMHS and our specialist CAMHS provision.
We are delighted that investment in our core CAMHS provision has enabled us to offer an opportunity for a CAMHS Practitioner to join our CAMHS Team based in Lichfield, to support the needs of our children, young people and families.
The successful candidate will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children and young people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on working with children and young people and their families who experience a complex range of needs and difficulties. Acting as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will provide assessment, psychosocial, evidence-based interventions using a collaborative approach and will be skilled at risk assessment and management. They will complement the multi-disciplinary working of the team, providing supervision for other team members, as agreed with the Operational Manager.
They will participate in team and service development and evaluation. Liaison, advice and consultation with a wide range of agencies is central to the role.
This role is based within our Lichfield CAMHS team. The team are award winners having won the RCPsych Award for best child and adolescent team of the year in 2019 with the judges “impressed by the way resources were used in a relatively small Community CAMHS service to offer a wide range of interventions, despite an increase in referrals and no increase in workforce” and that “quality improvement is embedded in the service and the team demonstrated good collaborative working relationships and morale, offering a wide range of interventions and integration with primary care. This is an excellent team across all domains.”
Lichfield CAMHS has a diverse, settled and experienced multi-disciplinary team that buck the national trend for assessment and treatment waiting times and work very effectively together in a young person-centred approach. The team are creative in ways of working collectively and with young people and welcome enthusiastic and passionate professionals who wish to join and be part of the Lichfield CAMHS team.
