NUH is looking to hire an Advanced Analyst (Band 7) to join our growing Data and System Management team. This role primarily involves providing analytical expertise for the Integrated Sexual Health Service under the new Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Sexual Health consortium contract commencing on 1st October 2024. Additionally, this position includes responsibilities for the NUH HIV Service and Psychosexual Service. The successful candidate will work 22.5 hours per week, with specific working days and hours to be determined during the interview process.

The NUH HIV and Psychosexual Health services operate under separate commissioned contracts. The Advanced Analyst will be responsible for delivering analytical expertise, presenting high-quality data, and providing tailored system support. You will also have direct line management responsibilities for a full-time Band 5 Data and Systems Support Officer. This team is expected to grow following the establishment of the new consortium on 1st October 2024.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level expertise in the analysis and presentation of complex healthcare data to deliver actionable insights for a wide range of audiences.
  • Lead projects by:
    • Collaborating with users to understand requirements, identifying data sources, and selecting appropriate analytical techniques.
    • Generating specifications and planning analytical projects.
    • Designing metrics and establishing measurement requirements to demonstrate success.
    • Designing and delivering analysis for evaluation, identifying appropriate data sources and methods.
    • Developing tools to support data capture, extraction, linkage, analysis, and presentation.
  • Offer expert advice to senior managers on system management/data/analytical issues, including techniques and accurate interpretation.

The successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach to working days/hours and site location across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience in a similar analytical role within the healthcare sector.
  • Strong ability to handle and interpret complex healthcare data.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis and data visualisation.
  • Proficiency in using analytical tools and software.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to diverse audiences.

  • Proven experience working within an information or analysis role
  • Detailed analysis & validation of various types of data to inform assessment of performance of complex organisations and to help identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience in using statistical & analytical techniques and information analysis, acquired though degree level or equivalent plus additional specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate diploma level / or equivalent relevant experience
  • Very high level of general computer literacy & use of tools such as MS Office


Desirable

  • Experience in developing analytical outputs such as dashboardsorreportsusingBusinessIntelligence software (e.g. Qlikview, QlikSense, Tableau, PowerBI, SSRS)

  • Ability to source and manipulate data from a variety of sources and present in the most appropriate format (maps, charts, tables etc) to deliver compelling data stories
