Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide support to the Governance Manager, Care Group Senior Leadership and Specialty Leadership Teams to assist in the delivery of safe and effective clinical services, ensuring that all governance targets, deadlines, and objectives are delivered as appropriate.
They will manage administration colleagues and act up in the absence of the Governance Manager as required. They will assume delegated responsibility for ensuring that governance arrangements are in place within the Care Group and provide guidance to staff regarding all aspects of integrated governance.

The Deputy Governance Manager will manage the day-to-day operational delivery of the Governance Services to ensure that:
- Substantial experience of NHS administration and/or operational management at degree level or equivalent.
- High standards of care delivery are achieved and maintained.
- Assist the Governance Manager in the development, co-ordination, implementation, and evaluation of governance within the Care Group.
- An understanding of and commitment to the principles and practice of clinical governance including, for example: risk management clinical audit and effectiveness patient and carer experience and involvement and staffing, including education, training, and continuing professional development.
- Through the clinical governance processes ensure the embedding of excellence and quality improvements within the speciality and promote learning across the care group and organisation
- An open and inclusive style of leadership to encourage team working and individual staff involvement in clinical governance planning and reporting activities.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge re regulatory and advisory bodies, for example CQC, NICE.
- To actively assist in the management of governance throughput within the within the Care Group.
- Working in partnership with the Governance Manager, Senior Leadership Team (Head of Nursing, Clinical Director, and General Manager) and Specialty Leadership Team (Clinical Matron, Specialty Lead, Governance Lead and Service Manager

- Substantial NHS experience of NHS admin or operational management or equivalent role
