Midwifery Clinical Placement Facilitator
  • We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced midwife to join the Clinical Placement Facilitator (CPF) Team at Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust to cover maternity leave for approximately a 15 month fixed term period.
  • The CPF team co-ordinate and facilitate the educational activities of pre-registration students, midwifery apprentice students and return to practice midwives.
  • The team will facilitate student midwives in gaining proficiencies set by the NMC. The CPF team support practice supervisors and assessors to ensure that they receive high quality training in order to support students in their learning journey and work clinically with students to ensure high quality evidence-based care.
  • The CPF works closely with the Higher Educational Institutes providing teaching support at university and a link between practice and theory.
  • The period of maternity leave will end approximately November/December 2025.

  • To provide student pastoral support, specialist advice, supervision and continuous professional development activities
  • To positively support, influence and improve the quality of the clinical environment by the provision of research, audit, and educational activities to facilitate improvements in patient care and organisational development.
  • To plan, implement and review evidence-based improvement programmes in a range of settings to drive continuous quality improvement in the delivery of high quality and safe care for patients and service users
  • To facilitate practice-based learning for learners and clinical staff to ensure quality a quality person centred approach to care which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity.
  • Involvement in placement planning using interpersonal and negotiation skills with services and HEIs where complex situations must be considered.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered midwife with current NMC registration
  • Evidence of ongoing education


Desirable

  • Masters module or working towards Masters degree
  • Practice teacher qualification

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
