To provide specialist assessment and rehabilitative packages of care to patients with brain injury aimed at reaching the patients full potential.

To work with other health, social care, voluntary agencies including out of area establishments regarding the repatriation of patients.

The service is considered locally and nationally as an exemplar service, offering evidence based intervention for adults, primarily of working age with an acquired brain injury.

Main duties of the job

As Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for the following. Agree standards for achieving quality care and audit mechanisms to monitor achievement. Be actively involved in service development, communicating change to team and implementing associated action. Establish effective links with health and social care colleagues, including GPs, Adult Social Care, secondary care, third sector, patients and carers. Maintain own clinical competence and professional development.Ensure effective record keeping standards are maintained in line with Trust requirements. Carry out specialist assessment of cognitive, behavioural and emotional functioning and develop clear psychological formulation based on the assessment. To deliver and monitor interventions,Conduct decision-specific mental capacity assessments and/or contribute to joint capacity assessments with other members of the interdisciplinary team if needed. To contribute to best interest decision and meeting for relevant decision when patients are assessed to lack capacity to make these decisions themselves. To work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, respecting the knowledge and expertise of all the team members, whilst providing a psychological perspective on the clinical and service issues.To participate in improvement for clinical practice and support the development of policies and procedures, as directed.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: �18 + Administration cost of �3.85 = �21.85. Deducted at �6.85 from 1st month salary and �5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: �38 + administration cost of �3.90 = �41.90. Deducted at �11.90 from 1st month salary and �10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
