We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Band 6 Radiographers to join our Imaging team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. These posts are based at the Charing Cross Hospital site.


The post will give you the opportunity to build on and extend your clinical skills. You will have the opportunity to rotate through CT & MRI.

Education and training are key elements of the department and applicants should be able to demonstrate a history of audit participation and good CPD.

The Imaging Department at Charing Cross Hospital performs a comprehensive range of procedures over all modalities with both clinical and research work being undertaken. Being flexible and innovative in your ways of working will be fundamental to your role and good communication skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the provision of an efficient radiology service.
  • To work as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnostic service.
  • To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to patients.
  • To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development (CPD).

Person Specification



  • BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
  • Health Professions Council Registration
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.


  • College of Radiographers accredited cannulation course



  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to teach and mentor students, more junior staff and new members of staff.
  • Ability to cope with conflict and complaints at local level commensurate with Trust policies
  • Ability to work using own initiative but also to know when to seek assistance and guidance.
  • Able to work flexibly based on needs of service.


  • Intermediate IT skills.



  • Up to date knowledge of general imaging techniques
  • Awareness of clinical governance issue in relation to patient care
  • 12 months post-graduation experience


  • Previous experience as Band 6 or equivalent radiographer
  • Experience of training staff and students
