Due to the recognised contribution and expertise of the existing clinical pharmacy team, we have an exciting opportunity for a senior pharmacy technician to lead, co-ordinate and administer the technical aspects of our Integrated Medicines Management (IMM) service for the Pharmacy Directorate.
The role involves leading the large IMM technician team delivering our IMM service across a range of wards in the Trust. You will co-manage the Team along with other Senior Pharmacy Technician colleagues, to ensure a high-quality delivery of our IMM service which delivers care from admission, through any inpatient stay and beyond into primary care. As such, the role involves working closely with the IMM Pharmacist team to support the delivery of the IMM Service, effective team-management and service development and evaluation.
Main duties of the job
You will have evidence of effective service delivery at Band 5 level, and have a keen interest in managing the delivery of a high-quality, patient-centred service.
This Post is part of a five-day in seven-day rota with routine support of both junior pharmacists and medicines management technicians.
South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust has invested in modern pharmaceutical facilities including full electronic prescribing with decision support, automated dispensaries and extensive seven-day clinical services to enhance the patients experience of care by improving the quality, safety and effectiveness of their medicines utilisation.
