We currently have a vacancy for the Managing Director role within our Enfield Division.

The role is one of our senior roles reporting directly into the Deputy Chief Executive/Chief Operating Officer and working to support them in the design and implementation of service strategy, taking the lead on specific work steams within the Transformational Programme. Working in partnership with the Clinical Director and supported by a Associate Director of Nursing and local management team, the successful applicant will be the accountable officer responsible for the day to day management of the division.

We are looking for applications from candidates who can strategically lead on the development of culture and set standards of behaviour that is inclusive and respectful and different in line with the Trust Values.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to ensure there is constant and visible leadership to ensure delivery of its performance, financial and governance requirements.

In addition, in this role you would be required to work effectively as part of the North Central London ICS to provide high quality, affordable care to patients who use our services.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the performance, culture, clinical and operational delivery to ensure services provide optimum patient care and use of resources.

The successful candidate will be a member of Performance operational Management Group and will interface with all NCL provider and Commissioners.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience.
  • Management qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience of operational management at a senior management level (or equivalent - taking account of relevant clinical experience if appropriate)
  • Possess an appropriate professional qualification and/or current registration of an appropriate professional body.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.


Desirable

  • Educated to master's degree level or equivalent experience.


Experience

Essential

  • Significant senior management experience in an NHS Trust, operating at Senior Management Level.
  • Experience of increasing staff engagement and motivation to improve performance.
  • Experience of leading service and/or transformational change.


Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Director responsible for Operations.


Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of NHS management issues including: - National agendas and initiatives - Performance management issues - Priorities within a Mental health and Community Trust - Priorities for mental and community services both locally and nationally.
  • Demonstrable track record of sound financial and operational management in a Senior level position
  • Demonstrable track record of operational performance improvement.
  • Demonstrates effective partnership working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge, problem solving and improvement methodologies.


Skills

Essential

  • Ability to influence, negotiate and persuade regarding complex or sensitive issues.
  • Ability to operate effectively in clinical academic operational environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong motivational skills to lead staff to deliver operational and cultural objectives and standards.


Desirable

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written and presentation, together with excellent listening skills including facilitation.
