This is an exciting opportunity to join a Social Work service that provides assessment, support and interventions for children, young people and their families. We offer training and development opportunities alongside flexible working and manageable caseloads.

Main duties of the job

This role focuses on leading and developing the adoption activity within the Family Placement Service and the wider Division. The Practice Lead will carry out complex adoption case work and quality assure all other adoption work undertaken by social workers within the Service to ensure services delivered are safe and of a consistently high standard in meeting the needs and thereby improving outcomes.

About the role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children? Do you have extensive experience in adoption services and a commitment to excellence? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated team as the Adoption Practice Lead in the Family Placement Service.

As the Practice Lead, you will spearhead and develop adoption activities within the Family Placement Service and the wider Division. Your role will involve:
  • Leading complex adoption casework.
  • Quality assuring adoption work conducted by social workers to ensure safety and high standards.
  • Developing island-based adoption services in line with legal and best practice requirements.
  • Serving as a point of contact for all practitioners involved in the adoption process.

A relocation package of up to �7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of �250 per month.
