Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to announce that Health Education England have commissioned in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University to deliver a Trainee Multi Professional Advanced Clinical Practitioner programme.

On successful completion of the 2 year education programme the candidate will be a registered Advanced Clinical Practitioner who will be employed on a permanent basis across the Mental Health Access Team which currently covers West and Central Cheshire

Main duties of the job

Person Specification



  • oCompletion of a degree (minimum of 2:2 honours or completed level 6 modules) in nursing or a health-related field or equivalent APel.
  • Registration on the appropriate part of a professional register for the chosen pathway

Knowledge and Expertise


  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years post registration experience in a relevant clinical area.
  • In-depth knowledge of care and issues surrounding (relevant clinical area including physical health care)
  • Confident in the delivery of care to this service user group
  • Knowledge and understanding of current issues/legislation
  • Evidence of excellent clinical record keeping
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a highly demanding environment
  • Maintained development of clinical leadership skills.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development relevant to subject area
  • Evidence of diplomacy and negotiation skills
  • Able to demonstrate imaginative and effective use of resources
  • Able to articulate personal development needs
  • Implementation of audit/ research recommendations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Evidence of significant involvement in change management.
  • Competent in use of IT packages such as Microsoft word and PowerPoint

  • Extensive post qualification experience
