An excellent opportunity has arisen for you to join our team in delivering essential and specialist neurosurgical nursing care to our patients. T4 is an 18 bedded clinical area with an excellent established nursing team who will be able to support and assist your development. T4 Neurosurgery High care Unit is based in the modern and spacious Tertiary block at the University Hospital of Wales and this is the tertiary referral centre for Mid and South/West Wales.

This unit is part of the Critical Care Directorate and consequently rotational opportunities are available should you wish to enhance your skills. In return we will offer you a dynamic, friendly working environment, a full induction programme and an individual personal development plan to guide your development within the role, with support from management and our practice educator.

Main duties of the job

On T4, we care for patients undergoing complex neurosurgery to their brain and spine, and those who have sustained traumatic brain injury. These patients require close observation and monitoring before returning to B4 neuro or home if recovered and well enough. We take pride in providing an extremely high standard of care to our patients whilst supporting both them and their relatives and carers within a challenging yet supportive acute hospital setting. We provide exciting learning opportunities within both the clinical and educational settings to enable you to develop and grow. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of individualised, holistic patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team to enable the best patient experience and outcomes. You will be supported by the experienced and senior staff to achieve this.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
