Come and join the AMH Planned Care team. We are looking for an experienced Associate Nurse Consultant to join our journey to change and improve the local community's experience with mental health services, adopting a no wrong door approach

We encourage discussions and we happy for potential staff to come along to visit, our bases and discuss opportunities and get to know the MDT. Within this role we will support you to expand on your knowledge and expertise with opportunity to develop special interests such as complex case management, expert supervision and role modelling as well as leading on community transformation and engaging with partner agencies.

The Interventions team provide complex interventions supporting people with severe and enduring mental health conditions whilst our Community Hub CMHT will support with short term interventions in collaboration with partner agencies and voluntary partners.

We are looking for a candidate who is an independent prescriber who can initiate & review medications for our patient base in line with NICE guidelines and clinical pathways.

We are looking for a team player to assist to support the team in delivering person centred recovery-based approaches and provide quality assurance on a governance level.

Main duties of the job

The Associate Nurse Consultant will be an experienced practitioner who is able to demonstrate a very high degree of personal and professional skill in the care of Adults with complex mental health conditions.

The ANC will carry a small but complex caseload, as well as supporting clinicians with their own complex cases. The ANC will lead on complex or urgent MDT's and complex risk formulations.

The ANC will always promote a positive image of people with mental health

conditions as well as community mental health services and the wider trust.

As an ANC you will be a valued member of the senior clinical leadership and management team and ensure that the service operates in a recovery focused way, enabling individuals to achieve their recovery goals.

In the role of ANC, you will provide the clinical leadership to enable the provision of a defined, recovery-focused service. It is expected that this post will work collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Specialists as a senior leadership team alongside the operational team manager.

To ensure the quality of patient experience and the requisite level of training and supervision is achieved and maintained.

To provide advanced clinical knowledge and skills to colleagues and service users within the service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered RMN/RNLD/ RGN
  • Relevant Post-basic clinical qualification(s) with a professional portfolio supporting this
  • Independent and Supplementary Nurse Prescribing Course Certificate
  • Masters level qualification
  • AC/RC status or willingness toward within 12 months of appointment


Desirable

  • Relevant teaching qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Post registered experience in a senior nurse position
  • Specific & recent experience within a senior capacity
  • Substantial post registration experience in a clinical nurse specialisation and/or senior nursing position to include significant leadership functions
  • Substantial experience of working as an independent non-medical prescriber
  • Currently engaged in significant clinical work with people with a complex mental illness at an advanced level of practice and can demonstrate a high level of professional autonomy

  • Organisational development experience

  • Specialist knowledge of AMH planned care
  • Principles of managing change
