The successful candidate will improve the lives of older people by minimising the impact of their condition through effective leadership, management and service development to enable the delivery of excellent services.

The team operates in the City of York and surrounding areas to meet the needs of the local population who present with mental health need. The team provide assessment and intervention for older people with organic and functional illness..

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent mental health services and can support and enable the team to continue to achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities will include supervision and appraisal for the team, performance, recruitment and management of staff, ensuring that people have timely access to our services and receive treatment in line with our pathways. You will need to have excellent relationship building and engagement skills and be capable of managing varied work demands based on the changing needs of the service. You will understand and embrace the challenge of delivering a service which is both high in quality, efficient and sustainable.

About us

The Trust as a whole advocate collective leadership, and the post holder will be operationally supporting a multi-disciplinary team that shares these principles of collective leadership.

Your Leadership team includes an Advance Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrists.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work or relevant professional clinical qualification (ie PWP/CWP in IAPT/Getting Help services)
  • Be Educated to Master's level in leadership or a subject area relevant to the area of practice OR
  • Have equivalent clinical experience to that of masters level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience - which also includes significant experience of managing people (see below under experience), together with evidence of CPD
  • Be trained in Clinical Supervision and Providing Clinical Supervision
  • Be a Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor


Desirable

  • Non-Medical Prescribing


Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience working with people with complex mental ill health in a community setting
  • Significant experience of working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
  • Significant experience of providing clinical supervision, mentoring and teaching to healthcare professionals and students.
  • Demonstrable leadership or management experience
