An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified and experienced nurses to join the Immunisation/School Nursing team in Cardiff and Vale to deliver the school based vaccination programme . You will be responsible for the organisation, health promotion and delivery of flu and other vaccinations.

Main duties of the job

The role includes supporting the School Nursing team with screening and delivery of the Child Measurement programme.

The posts are term-time, being peripatetic to ensure that the service is flexible and adaptable to meet need.

You will need to be able to travel to schools and UHB bases in a timely and efficient manner.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • First level Nursing registration ,evidence of prof development


Desirable

  • Children's nursing qualifications.


Experience

  • Sufficient post registration Nursing experience

  • Experience of community working. Experience of working with children.


Skills

  • Ability to work well within a team. Good communication, organisational, analytical and negotiating skills.


Desirable

  • IT skills, Understanding of principles of Public Health


Special Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures. Knowledge of stages of child development

  • Understanding of inter-agency working, Principles of public health
