Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dynamic and inspiring registered nurse who is looking to develop in a Leadership role within the Division of Medicine.

This post will be based at Spinney Field.

Spinney Field is a purpose-built stand-alone unit in the Northamptonshire town of Rushden.

This facility has been recently taken over by Kettering General Hospital and will provide care for patients who no longer require their care needs being met in an acute care setting. This will include patients who are medically optimised but have complex discharge needs or patients who can continue their medical care in a 'home' like setting.

Whilst this is an offsite location, Spinney fields is a Kettering General Hospital (KGH) service and if successful, you will be employed on KGH terms and conditions and will be an employee of KGH.

The successful applicant will work at Spinney fields whilst the service is open but may be required to work at the main site at KGH on occasion or if the serviced provision changes.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide the Spinney field team with nursing and clinical leadership and will work with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure that our patients that transfer from the main hospital site receive on going care that is of excellent quality, that is safe and that onward discharge plans are adhered to.

The post holder will deputise for the Unit Manager as required and will be prepared to work flexibly to ensure that a deputy sister is on duty 24/7.

This role would suit a senior band 5 with 3 or more years of experience, who is looking for career progression and a new challenge and can demonstrate some experience with ward/care/community home setting management.

You should be able to demonstrate and evidence that you have a good range of experience and skills in the coordination of care, typically through Nurse in Charge or Shift Leader Competencies.

We have a clear leadership vision and provide opportunities to develop in this role. Alongside an internal leadership development programs we also link with local Universities and the East Midlands and NHS Leadership Academy. We actively encourage continual professional development and the implementation of new ideas which promote excellent patient care. Alongside leadership development we also have access to a vast range of clinical development modules related to the specialty.
