Are you looking to develop your Physiotherapy skills in inpatient rehabilitation. We currently have a vacancy on our general rehabilitation ward at Midway unit, Langley House. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering client centred evidence based care in a general rehab ward.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and innovative multi-disciplinary team where you can develop your rehabilitation skills in a variety of conditions such as Orthopaedics, amputees, elderly care and general medical conditions. You will have a role developing your Physiotherapy practice and deliver evidence based rehabilitation and assessments to a variety of patients with diverse needs. You will have the opportunity to supervise junior staff, rehabilitation assistants and students, as well as partaking in audit and service improvement projects.

The current vacancy is based at Midway Unit, Langley house,however there are alternative rehabilitation units across West Herts - in Watford and Hemel Hempstead with a potential rotation between units.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Undertake specialised uni-professional and multi-professional assessments

To develop and implement treatment plans for patients referred to the services. These patients may present with a variety of complex multi-pathologies within specialist areas, including neurological conditions, musculoskeletal conditions, age related disorders, osteoporosis, learning disability and/or mental health diagnosis.

Participate in the Assessment Process when appropriate, performing overview assessments and complex specialist assessments as appropriate.

To communicate relevant medical information, assessment details, advice and recommendations across agencies and with clients in compliance with Trust Guidelines for sharing of information and informed consent. These agencies may include General Practitioners, Social Services, Healthcare professionals, voluntary agencies, Residential and Nursing homes

Be responsible for gaining valid, informed consent for assessment, treatment interventions and sharing of information in compliance with legal and professional guidelines. To be able to follow these guidelines in circumstances where patients do not have capacity to provide informed consent.

Education /Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current HPC registration
  • Evidence of up to date CPD portfolio
  • Involvement in Appraisal Scheme
  • Attendance at specialist short courses or equivalent CPD activities within the specialist areas of Adult Rehabilitation, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Older People Rehabilitation


Desirable

  • Member of CSP
  • Member of a Special Interest Group relevant to the rotational clinical areas
