We work closely as a therapy team undertaking joint assessments and treatments with our Physiotherapy colleagues and promote an MDT approach to patient care working closely with nursing colleagues and the broader team .
We share our office facilities with our community therapy colleagues which enhances the knowledge and support provided.
The post holder will treat patients with a complex and varied pathologies and presentations, including a wide variety of conditions e.g., neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory, frailty, and falls. Every contact, treatment plan, and working environment are different bringing variety and challenge to each working day.
It is desired that staff work flexibly in line with a 'one workforce' culture across services, settings, and sectors, building relationships and increasing skills. The community rehabilitation model aims to increase capacity and access to high quality therapy-led rehabilitation assessments and interventions that are timely, safe, and person-centred, for people discharged on intermediate care pathways from acute settings and virtual wards.

Within your role of Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will be expected to provide supervision for support staff and participate in Student Education.
It will be an expectation of this post that if needed the person works flexibly across all areas of the Mid Integrated Therapy Team. Seven-day working could become an operational requirement of this post in the future. Currently the service is commissioned Mon - Fri excluding Bank Holidays.
Regular clinical supervision will be provided and continuing professional development encouraged. We would welcome informal visits to the team.
