This role will assist the Safety Informatics & Datix Programme Manager in providing operational support and project co-ordination. The post holder will supervise the help desk style support service delivered by the Safety Informatics & Datix Administrators. Acting as the first escalation contact for staff seeking assistance via the support service, the post holder will deliver an excellent and consistent standard of interpersonal skills to staff group wide.

The post holder will support the Safety Informatics & Datix Programme Manager by co-ordinating small patient safety software-based projects. The role will also oversee monthly reporting functions to ensure timely and accurate data is shared groupwide.

The post holder will:

Be proficient with all versions of the Trusts Datix systems

Supervise the Safety Informatics & Datix Administrators in the day to day management of Datix.

Produce regular reports and solve queries using Datix.

Provide administrative support to the Director of Quality Assurance (approx. 1 day per week).

Ensure data quality by carrying out audits of the data reported in the Datix system.

Deliver training on how to use the Datix system.

Co-ordinate small scale patient safety projects which relate to software improvements.

Actively problem solve issues and defects within the patient safety software.

Main duties of the job

Provide front line telephone and e-mail assistance to staff for the Trust patient safety software analysing their difficulties to ensure their problems are resolved

Provide an operational support function to ensure the Datix system is running efficiently at all times

Support with the development and delivery of training packages for all versions of the Trust Datix software.

Act as first escalation point for service users via the departmental shared inbox

Co-ordinate projects on behalf of the Safety Informatics & Datix Programme Manager

Act on system change requests and follow robust change control procedures

Provide PA support to the Director of Quality Assurance

Be proficient with the use of the Datix and produce regular and ad-hoc reports as required to support the organisations patient safety agenda

Maintain data integrity ensuring high quality data enables accurate robust reporting by making corrections where necessary in order to meet internal and external reporting requirements

Be responsible for quality checking data in order to ensure accurate reporting of Learn From Patient Safety Event records

Use of business intelligence tools such as PowerBI to improve patient safety reporting mechanisms
