The Norfolk and Waveney AAA Screening Programme are seeking a Screening Technician Team Leader to support the Programme Manager and the Screening Team Based at Rouen Road, Norwich. The role includes deputising for the Programme Manager and managing Screening Technicians to provide an efficient and effective service, participating in the development of corporate objectives, policies, and plans.

The post holder will be a qualified Screening Technician who will undertake screening within the community alongside working closely with the Clinical Skills Trainer to develop and co ordinate the delivery of high quality training to the team, ensuring training delivery meets programme needs and is delivered professionally and effectively.

Main duties of the job

1) To deputise for the Programme Manager, management of Screening Technicians, to provide an efficient and effective service.

2) To work closely with the Clinical Skills Trainer(s) to deliver high quality training and abdominal ultrasound scanning as part of the community based National Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme (NAAASP) and ensure that scanning is undertaken to a high standard by the team. In accordance with national standard operating procedures. The post holder will either hold the CAVA qualification or be prepared to undertake the qualification in the future.

3) To be responsible for machine maintenance/service/daily machine checks and transferring of ultrasound images within the required time frame as set out in the national operating standards.
