The countywide Cornwall Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health Service are looking for a Business Support Manager to assist in the effective and efficient running and development of the team. You would play a key part in ensuring high standards of care and processes are maintained, working closely with the leadership team. You will support the leadership team in ongoing service development, analysing data, developing action plans and providing required assurances to NHSE and Cornwall Foundation Trust.

You will have experience of working at a senior admin level and have experience of managing people. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to adapt style to communicate clearly with a variety of people using a range of media. In addition you will have an analytical approach to problem solving and ability to respond suddenly to unexpected demands.

Previous experience of working in the NHS desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

This post will ensure the day-to-day management of all administrative staff. In addition, the post holder will support the Operational Lead and Manager with PALS/complaints, identify training needs through analysing trends and themes, sourcing any training that is required. The post holder will coordinate appraisal, training and supervision compliance. Management of health systems such as ESR and E-Roster this will include sickness monitoring for all staff and other HR related aspects to support the Locality Admin Manager, Operational Lead and Management Team. The post holder will support the team to deliver individual team functions.

The post-holder will also be required to represent the Trust and to act on its behalf in all aspects of business support including liaising with Human Resources, Business Development Team, other stakeholders (internal and external). The post-holder will also provide administration support functions to the Locality Admin Manager, Operational Lead and Management Team.

The post holder will support the management team in meeting KPI's, targets and contractual obligations. This will include overseeing joint commissioning arrangements and ensuring we are meeting organisational requirements and commissioning.

Joint working with our business development team, finance, Senior management team and estates will be vital in supporting the service and team managers to drive projects forward in specific areas.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Advanced keyboard skills


Desirable

  • Project Management qualification or PRINCE 2 or equivalent experience


Skills/Aptitude

Essential

  • Significant experience of working within an administrative setting at a senior level
  • Experience of managing and developing staff including performance management
  • Ability to solve complex analytical problems independently analyse information oversee and control testing/options appraisals and made recommendations based on all analysis
  • Very good negotiating and diplomacy skills, coupled with the ability to remain objective when dealing with complex and sensitive issues which can be contentious at times


Desirable

  • Healthcare / NHS administration experience
  • Experience of policy and procedural development
