This role will work to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Specialist Children's Service - providing high quality, safe and responsive specialist health services to children, young people, parents/carers and professionals in Bexley and Greenwich as part of the operational management team of the Specialist children's Services Sub-directorate.

Main duties of the job

To ensure that specialist children's services are provided according to best practice, in partnership with service users and partner agencies, working as part of a multi-agency system.

To ensure that Specialist services are delivered in accordance with national and local policies, priorities and regulatory frameworks and meets all performance targets. To oversee that reporting requirements to commissioners are met.

To provide leadership and management to the service and lead a senior team comprising of team managers and senior clinicians. To operate as a member of the operational leadership team and as part of the Trust senior manager out of hours on-call duty system.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will:

Provide overall management of their allocated services

Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of care pathways through the service including triage, assessment, treatment, and discharge of children and young people and their families

Ensure the service is delivered in accordance with national and local policies, priorities and regulatory frameworks and meets all performance targets.

Work in partnership with Heads of Profession and other clinical leads, to maintain a culture within the service of excellence in clinical standards and safety.

Operate as a leader within the multi-agency network of childrens services, to ensure the service is delivered as part of an integrated system to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people.

Ensure the service is delivered to meet key performance targets.
