The Oldham community teams cover all areas of Oldham visiting people at home and running treatment clinics. As an autonomous registrant working across the Oldham community you will be a confident nurse professional with the ability to make swift, well considered decisions when needed.

Our service is provided on a 7 day a week basis with weekends being distributed across the team, therefore weekend working will be a part of the role. You must be the holder of a current, clean UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and development, devising, implementing and evaluating programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients. You will work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team in the Community. You should be expert in all areas of service delivery ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the effective management of the caseload and have line management responsibility for members of their caseload team and effectively utilise nursing skills and resources to provide high quality service to all clients and carers.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.   • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Adult)


Essential Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in nursing studies (or equivalent nursing qualification and experience)
  • Specialist Practitioner Qualification or equivalent training/experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Evidence of involvement in teaching


Desirable

  • Prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrates evidence based clinical knowledge
  • Competent IT Skills
  • Communicates succinctly, clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing
  • Be an effective team member who is able to relate to colleagues at all levels of the Trust with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to coordinate your workload and supervise members of the team, ensuring high quality, safe and effective patient care


Desirable

  • Experience of the use of clinical systems
  • Demonstrate initiative to proactively problem solve with a solution focus
  • Ability to use reflective practice, to continuously improve the standard of patient care
