The Children's Therapies Team is an integrated therapies team providing Occupational Therapy, Speech andLanguage Therapy, Physiotherapy, Specialist Nurse Advisors and Care Co-ordinators to children 0 - 19 yearswithin KCHFT.We have a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Band 6 Occupational Therapy post available on a permanent basiswithin our School Years team. The focus will be on managing the needs of the school age children on ourcaseloads but there may be an opportunity for some early years work.The post holder will work in a range of settings including clinics, family homes and specialist provisions, suchas special schools.We will consider full-time and part time options.This vacancy is within the NorthWest Kent Team based covering the Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Maidstone andDartford and Gravesham areas. The successful applicant will be supported by the Clinical Leads and TeamLeads in NorthWest Kent and will join the network of Occupational Therapists working in the Children'sTherapies Service across Kent.We work closely with colleagues from other health, education and social care teams to provide an integratedteam around the child approach.The interviews will be held on Friday 26 July 2024.

Main duties of the job

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate a range of OT interventions that support children with a range ofneeds to participate in occupations of childhood.To develop integrated care plans in partnership with the child, young person and / or family recommending andsupporting interventions that are appropriate at a universal, targeted and specialist level.To actively work as a member of a multi disciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide high quality care tochildren and young people in line with our care pathways.To manage a caseload of children on a daily basis that includes children and young people with complex needs.To participate in clinical supervision and to work as part of an integrated team with Therapy Assistants, OTs,PTs, SLTs, Care Co-ordinators and Specialist Nurse Advisors offering support to colleagues as appropriate toknowledge and skills.To support and make recommendations to senior managers in order to prioritise and focus efforts to driveforward and achieve business objectives, service improvement strategies and statutory requirements.
