Are you about to qualify as a PT and nervous about getting your first job? Already a band 5 but looking for a change of scenery? Then today is your lucky day! We've got vacancies for a Band 5 PT to join our rotation. We're really proud of our rotation 4-month rotations in a number of exciting specialisms including critical care, neurosurgery, acute stroke and stroke rehab, trauma orthopaedics, medicine, surgery and MSK. There are also opportunities in Burns and Plastics, Paediatrics and Women's Health Teams to develop your skills, although these ae not part of the core rotations. We're also a Major Trauma centre and a regional centre for Neurological, Vascular and Renal care so there really is something for everyone.
We are really lucky that the Trust recognizes the value of the therapy workforce and the important work we do to improve our patients' functional outcomes. We are that good that our executives have invested not only in these physio roles but in our OT colleagues and Therapy Support Workers too.
Main duties of the job
Our Band 5 rotation will give you the opportunity to build on your core PT skills creating solid foundations for the rest of your career. The pace is fast and exciting, and we promise there'll be no time to be bored. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants, Therapy Assistant Practitioners and apprentices. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside members of the wider MDT and specialist teams.
To enhance your treatment skills and develop your knowledge, we will support you via clinical supervision and team in-service training. There will also be the opportunity to be involved with supervision of students, service development and education.
Following robust training the successful candidate will join the evening and weekend respiratory on call Rota. Some of our teams provide a 6 or 7 service and as a whole department we are working towards a 7-day model of care so you would be expected to participate and support this working pattern.
