Senior Pharmacy Technician Operational Services(with responsibility for Theatres and associated areas)Band 5
We have an exciting opportunity for a registered Pharmacy Technician with Hospital Pharmacy experience who would be keen to have additional responsibility within the Dispensary setting.We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to become the link to Theatres andassociated areasYou will be responsible for ensuring that medicines including to followsare supplied in a timely manner and any stock outs are investigated and resolved. A good knowledge of Controlled Drugs regulations will be essential as this post holder will be required to remove expired and unwanted Controlled Drugs from Theatre areasThis post will allow you to develop your line management skills as you will be required to manage Pharmacy Technicians/Assistants.Applicants must have the NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3 qualification(or equivalent) and BTEC or equivalent certificate and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Main duties of the job
- To dispense outpatient, in-patient and discharge prescriptions in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
- To dispense Controlled Drug requisitions
- To maintain the PMR on the pharmacy dispensing system
- To ensure the stock item to-follows for Theatres and associated areas are dealt with in a timely manner.
- To ensure that any stock outs in Theatres and associated areas are dealt with by providing suitable alternatives.
- To participate in the Medicines Storage Audit for Theatres and associated areas.
- To attend and participate in the various departmental meetings including CPD sessions.
- To comply with all Trust & Departmental policies & procedures, work safely and efficiently.
- To assist in the training & supervision of other grades of staff
