We are looking for a clinically excellent dietitian with a broad range of clinical experience and leadership skills in the Home Enteral Feeding Team. We are looking for someone with extensive home enteral feeding experience, who can apply their skills to this new role in addition to being a leader within the department. The postholder will have a caseload of adult Home Enteral Feeding patients within the Bassetlaw area.

The dietitian appointed would be based within the Nottinghamshire Home enteral feeding as part of the community outreach team . There will be flexibility and some of the hours will include working from home . The post-holder will join the team of approximately 23 dietitians assistants, nurses and administrators within the HEF team.

As a service we are committed to continuing professional development for all our staff through a range of opportunities that include recognized training courses, involvement in service development and audit.

The post holder will be supported in their development with programs such as the AHP Leadership Program, Masters modules and Fellowship Program. We are also actively involved in commercial research and development.

The post holder will manage a varied HEF adult caseload of complex patients and will visit community settings including day care centres, patient's homes and care homes .

You'll need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload and that of other members of staff within the supportive team.

Person Specification



  • HCPC registration
  • Diploma or degree in relevant qualification



  • Wide ranging and extensive experience of working within specialist area
  • Experience of delegating to and supervising other members of the team

Analytical and judgement skill


  • Able to make decisions about the treatment needs of highly complex patients
  • Lead on the development of improvements in service delivery and clinical practice using evidence based practice to recommend changes



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communicate complex patient related information effectively to ensure collaborative working with MDT colleagues across health & social care sectors

Planning & organisational skil


  • Able to plan the delivery of a service for a specialist area where there is variable capacity and fluctuating demand



  • Undertake out of hours duties as required.
