Main duties of the job

- Manage our elective pathways, from referral into our MSK service, through outpatients and diagnostics, to operative treatment.

- Work closely with the Clinical Director and theatres team to ensure maximum efficiency and utilisation

- Support patient flow for trauma pathways, ensuring patients are reviewed quickly in ED and operated on with national guidelines.

- Work closely with the matron and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients are discharged when ready to manage the elective and emergency bed capacity.

- Lead our admin team to provide the best patient care, support the clinical team as required, and develop individuals in the team to be future leaders.

- Support the rota coordinator and clinical lead to manage and develop junior doctors, surgical care practitioners and physician associates.

- Work with other services to develop the Trauma & Orthopaedic service going forward and write business cases to ensure these are supported financially.
