Leading a centralised service to provide high volumes of vaccinationsincluding mobile outreach in community hubs, venues and pop-ups to deliver the vaccine locally.Leading on health promotion projects and working with GP practices to engage people with underlying health conditions where prevention andtreatment interventions are not optimised (i.e. personalised treatment plans for individuals identified through population health managementinsights).

Main duties of the job

A senior lead role responsible and accountable for the clinicalleadership of the whole vaccination process, trained and competent inall aspects of the protocol and taking overall responsibility for provisionof vaccination under the protocol at all times and be identifiable toservice users.Responsible for clinical oversight of the following:Coordination and oversight of the full portfolio of services carried outwithin the specialist teamProvision of adequate leadership and support to all staff and citizens.Clinical escalations from clinical supervisors, clinical assessors andvaccination staff.Clinical review of patient safety conditions and identification of potentialclinical risks and concerns.Ensuring the effective delivery of care including undertaking specialistprocedures, providing specialist advice, structured education andongoing support to the site staff and the patients.To act as a credible clinician in order to advise and guide staff inrespect of all aspects of clinical deliveryA strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible and accessibleto patients, carers and staff.To support the developments of Clinical Governance and ServiceImprovement, to modernise patient services and ensure the activeinvolvement of patients and carers in the way services are developed,delivered and evaluated.Leading by example the post holder will influence, lead, support andmotivate colleagues.

Responsible for overseeing the clinical activity for the portfolio ofservices offered by the specialty team Ensure a consistently resilient, high-quality process of delivering thefull range of services delivered by the specialist team. Lead the clinical specialty providing leadership, development andgovernance in relation to the services clinical areas and supportingother clinicians regarding patient treatment and management. Clinical review of patient safety conditions and identification ofpotential clinical risks and concerns. Ensure that the services meet the needs of all eligible people, isprovided to the highest level of quality, safety and efficiency, meetsthe minimum standards and strive for excellence, and ensures equityof access and uptake. Implement strategies and plans to support continuous improvementand delivery of the portfolio of services. Act as key liaison person to all parties involved. Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholdersand service providers including health protection services,quality assurance teams, and local authority colleagues to ensureseamless programme delivery. Monitor uptake and identify inequalities particularly in relation tosocial class, ethnicity, special need, and develop and implementplans to reduce inequality. Ensure that expert clinical and public health advice is provided to thepublic through an appropriate provider. Ensure that systems and protocols are in place for the identification,response and evaluation of untoward incidents and that all relevantstakeholders understand these. Provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment andadvice to patients and their carers. Communicate effectively and build relationships with colleaguesacross the site and key external stakeholder organisations

  • In depth service specific knowledge
